Our spending plans for 2026-2027

We're investing in the services and facilities that matter most to you, while continuing to manage significant financial pressures responsibly

A large part of this year's funding continues to support residents with complex needs, help people liveindependently, and ensure children in care have stability and opportunities. We'll also continue using tools like the Low Income Family Tracker to help households access unclaimed benefits.

Improving everyday services

Residents tell us that well maintained roads and reliable services are important.

This year we're investing in resurfacing, drainage, street lighting, and wider maintenance to improve journeys and reduce potholes.

We're also expanding sustainable travel options, including new EV charging points. Our schools will continue to receive investment to support high quality learning environments and better facilities for children with special educational needs.

You'll also see improvements such as enhanced facilities at Shaw House and new

temporary accommodation in Hungerford funded by external funding sources. We face ongoing pressures from reduced government funding and changes to business rates, which will reduce our income by at least £28 million over three years. Despite this, we remain committed to protecting essential services and investing in our communities.
