Missed rubbish or recycling collection
Collection updates
There were no issues to report today, Tuesday 4 February 2025.
Why your bin or recycling container may not have been collected
We may not collect your bin or recycling container if they:
- were not out by 6am on your collection day
- were not in the right place for collection
- were overfilled or too heavy
- had the wrong items in them
- were not suitable containers
If we have not collected your bin or recycling container for a specific reason, we should leave you a notification on the bin or container explaining why. You can find out more information about what types of waste we can collect for recycling on our recycling collection page.
If your bin or recycling container has not been taken because it was overfilled, too heavy or if your waste was not in a suitable bin or container, please take this to your nearest recycling centre.
Report a missed collection
Before reporting a missed collection, please check:
- our service status above, in case there are any known issues affecting the service
- that it is your scheduled collection day
- the list of reasons why your bin or recycling container may not have been collected (above) and whether you have been left a notification by the collection crew
Report a missed collection using our online contact form.
You must report missed food waste collections within two working days. All other collections must be reported within five working days of your scheduled collection.
We'll investigate your report. If we agree that we have missed your collection, we will return to collect your rubbish or recycling. If there is an issue with your bin or recycling container due to contamination, you will need to remove the wrong items before your next collection.
