About the Phoenix Resource Centre

The Phoenix Resource Centre offers excellent facilities with a calm atmosphere and highly trained, experienced and caring staff.

It's open five days a week from Monday to Friday and can support up to 30 people per day.

The Phoenix Resource Centre provides services and occupational activities for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and for those with frailty and dementia. Our spacious and well-equipped centre has a variety of rooms, spaces and facilities which we use to set up activities that our customers choose or need.

Our Therapy Rabbit

George Phoenix, our therapy Rabbit arrived at the Phoenix Resource Centre on the 16 August 2019. George was given time to settle in before meeting some of our customers on his first day!

Our customers with learning disabilities were excited to meet George, and he spent some time sitting on laps being petted. It was amazing to see how they interacted with him. Some of our customers with physical disabilities, frailty and dementia came to see him and they thoroughly enjoyed watching George.

George spent the weekend in his outdoor hutch, being checked on by staff who popped up to see him.

Each day, George joined various sessions where he was well received. The customers had George on their laps, where he is always inundated with cuddles, kisses, and being brushed.

After spending time with individual customers, George will roam around the room exploring his environment getting up on his favourite armchair, at times he can be very naughty - for example, chewing into wires. The rooms have to be George proof!

George also has a respite carer, one of the members of staff, who takes George home most weeks/weekends.
 

Room Hire

We hire out most of our rooms at very competitive prices for a range of different events.

We have a fully equipped working theatre, as well as a designated training room with manual handling equipment.
