Unable to sleep by Miranda
The whirring in my head
It begins when I lie in my bed
No sleep it decides
A list of tasks it provides
Why suddenly they have arrived
Is a mystery to fathom
Those tasks lay forgotten
For months and years and were rested.
Unlike myself now thoroughly tested
So awake am I
Call it insomnia
Call it anything
It's a nuisance it's a pest
I really need to rest
The appointment tomorrow I must attend
But my mind it wont amend
I cannot sleep
So the consequences I shall reap
The later it is on the clock
The more my mind worries and shall mock
Yes its typical now very drowsy I become
But its much too late
The alarm rings
And time to rise arrives
Shower and dress I must
The new day will be endured
That list of urgent things disappeared once more.
To pop up again and torture
My procrastination is my enemy
