The West Berkshire Local Plan Review 2023 to 2041 (LPR)

The LPR identifies the development that is required to meet local needs until 2041. It sets out the strategy for distributing development within the District and the policies for protecting, conserving and enhancing the natural, built and historic environment. It helps local people in West Berkshire achieve sustainable development.

The LPR is accompanied by a Policies Map which shows how the policies in the LPR apply to different geographical areas. You can Icon for pdf view the Policies Map here [10MB] .

Alternatively, you may find it easier to use the interactive LPR map. It is a helpful tool for exploring planning policies across the district, but please keep in mind:

  • it is for reference only - this map is not an official policy document
  • not all policies are shown - some apply across the whole district or are not tied to specific locations, so they do not appear on the map
  • some layers were not created through the LPR - for example, Flood Zones and Conservation Areas - these are included for context and may be updated separately

If you are using the map to check planning details, it is best to also refer to the full LPR document for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
