Learner Achievement Awards Nominations 2024

The West Berkshire Learner Achievement Awards are now open for nominations.

These annual awards celebrate the success of adult learning in West Berkshire, covering apprenticeships, professional, academic and vocational courses and learning programmes that support families, communities, and health and wellbeing.

To qualify for an award, the nominee must have been engaged in learning since September 2023, aged over 19 years at the start of their course and live, work or volunteer in West Berkshire.

There are nine award categories and each winner will receive a cash prize.

1. Outstanding Achievement (£100) Sponsored by Newbury College
2. Determination (£100)
3. Inspiring Others (£100)
4. Returning to Learning (£100) Sponsored by Newbury Community Resource Centre
5. Group Learners (£500)
6. Teacher, Tutor and Trainer (£100)
7. Adult Apprenticeship (£100) Sponsored by WBTC
8. Numeracy Skills for Life Award (£300) Sponsored by Multiply
9. The Terry Stares Award (£500). In memory of Terry Stares who instigated adult education at Newbury Community Resource Centre and continued to work at the charity as a volunteer, trainer and trustee for over 20 years. All nominations will be entered into this category. Sponsored by NCRC

Award winners will be invited, with a guest, to the presentation ceremony at Shaw House, Newbury on Friday, 8 November at 5.30pm.
