Out In The Cold By Lesley Cave

Posted by: Lesley Cave on 16 October 2023 09:55

Life is so dull,

With nowhere to go.

Do I stay here in the cold

Or do I move on and find a warm place?

I must as I want a warm face and possibly my hands

The rain won't stop

I'm stuck outside this shop,

Huddling in the doorway,

Please help me I silently ask as people rush past me not seeing anything,

Wanting to get home in the warm and dry,

Please when you pass me by,

Think of me sitting here with nowhere to go,

I don't ask for much,

Somewhere safe and dry where I can sleep safely at night

And perhaps to eat a bite or two

And in the morning I can move on,

Dry shoes at last I pray,

And onto another hiding place

To start another day,

So please don't look away when you see me

I'm here looking for a home....
